邵國維- Finally she got it over and entered a new world. She has finished her job in this world. I wish her spirit rest in peace in the eternal one. We have met several times in Taichung with 鄭曼婷 and 曾玄哲 after she became a Buddhist nun and have been chatting about life and death. Now she knows it better. I will always remember this lovely girl.

余麗華 - Thank you Susan for letting us know of this sad news. Although death is a natural process of life, it's still rather difficult to accept. Zenda was very fortunate to have three lovely children to accompany her and also have a adorable grandchild to cheer her up at the final stage of her life. Now she is at peace. Amitabha.

聽到施琇惠同學往生，心情複雜，她是我們近40年的金山灣區近鄰同學，於1978年是最早來灣區定居的同學，往事歷歷 。
灣區女同學，除施琇惠外，還有林美珠 。10多年前林美珠往生前，施琇惠和我們都多次到Stanford Hospital探望、照顧，施琇惠還幫林美珠梳頭解痛。約10年前施琇惠生病住Stanford Hospital時，我曾往探望並載她出院回她姊家。此外，多年前，有同學來灣區，我們常到施琇惠家相聚。
施琇惠信佛，曾學針灸 。5年前施琇惠中風，不良於行，佛是支撐她度日的精神泉源。如今她解脫了，祝 她西天路上好走！

It has been just over five years since Zenda had her stroke and today we are sharing with you the news that Zenda passed away on the evening of Tuesday, November 7th.
Zenda will be cremated but there will be no official memorial ceremony. In lieu of flowers or cards, we will collect donations to disburse to Tergar (The Meditation Community of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche), The Yongey Foundation, Karma Triyana Dharmachakra (KTD, the first Karma Kagyu monastery in the United States where Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche is a resident teacher) and to help defray some of the expenses sustained during Zenda’s post-stroke & end-of-life care as well as for carrying out her end-of-life wishes.

For those who don’t know, Zenda was ordained as a Buddhist nun. Her teachers were Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche and Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, both of the Karma Kagyu lineage. Her Tibetan dharma name, given to her by the Twelfth Kenting Tai Situpa Rinpoche, translates into English as "at ease in Dharma."
The three of us (Adlar, Lily & Zinnia) have been in communication to discuss how best to accommodate our mother’s wishes with respect to her Buddhist beliefs and to her own personal preferences. In her final weeks, we read to her portions of the Tibetan Book of Living & Dying. After her final breath, we read to her from the Tibetan Book of the Dead. We also read a couple of Buddhist prayers selected with the help of a Buddhist pastor & expert on dying in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. While Zenda’s body rested in place overnight, prayers familiar to Zenda were played on loop for her.
With the help of friends in the Buddhist community in New England, a message has been relayed to Mingyur Rinpoche who will pray for Zenda during this important transition time. And a bardo lamp has been lit in her honor in the shrine room at KTD.
